Maltego OCCRP Aleph Transform

Prerequisites:

  1. Maltego CE (Community Edition) or Maltego XL installed.
  2. Access to the OCCRP Aleph transform from the Maltego Transform Hub.

Step 1: Download the OCCRP Aleph Transform from the Transform Hub

To get started, you need to download the OCCRP Aleph Maltego transform from the Transform Hub:

  1. Open Maltego.
  2. Go to the “Apps” tab on the left sidebar.
  3. In the “Transform Hub” section, search for “OCCRP Aleph” or the specific transform package provided by OCCRP.
  4. Click on it, then click “Download” or “Install.”

Step 2: Set Up the OCCRP Aleph Transform

After downloading the transform, you can set it up:

  1. Open Maltego.
  2. In the “Manage” tab, click on “Transforms Manager.”
  3. Find the OCCRP Aleph transform you downloaded and click on “Settings” or “Configure.”

Step 3: Access OCCRP Aleph Resources

Here are the URLs to access OCCRP Aleph resources:

  • OCCRP Aleph Website: Visit the OCCRP Aleph website to access the data platform and search for documents, entities, and relationships.
  • OCCRP Aleph API Registration: If you plan to use the OCCRP Aleph API, you may need to register for an API key. Follow the registration process on this page to obtain your API key.

Step 4: Use the OCCRP Aleph Transform

Now that you’ve configured the transform and, if necessary, obtained your API key, you can use it to query the OCCRP Aleph platform for information about documents, entities, and relationships:

  1. Open Maltego.
  2. Create a new graph or open an existing one.
  3. Right-click on an entity (e.g., a person’s name or a keyword) in your Maltego graph.
  4. In the context menu, select “Run Transform.”
  5. Choose the OCCRP Aleph transform from the list.
  6. Click “Run.”

The transform will query the OCCRP Aleph platform for relevant information and present it in your Maltego graph.

Step 5: Save and Export

After performing your analysis and enriching your Maltego graph with OCCRP Aleph data, you can save your graph and export it in various formats for reporting and sharing.

Please note that access to the OCCRP Aleph API may require registration and adherence to usage policies. The specific capabilities and behavior of the transform may vary depending on the package provided by the Transform Hub, so consult any documentation or instructions provided with the transform for more details on configuration and usage.
